The sale includes an iconic print of Bob Marley on tour by legendary music photographer Dennis Morris, as well as images of island life by artists Karis Beaumont, Fenn O’Meally, Dexter McClean, Gabriella Drew, Takenya Holness and Nathaniel Bailey. Jamaica’s natural beauty is captured by Danika Magdelena, Christian Cassiel and Nadine Persaud, whilst Ryan Prince, Nadine Scarlett and Tasha Hylton explore identity through the vibrance of Jamaican culture. Logo design is courtesy of the talented Jodi Hunt.
The sale is hosted on contemporary online print platform GoodMood, who are supporting We Tallawah by matching all print profits as a donation to the Hurricane Melissa Relief Fund. Co-Founder Nick de Klee says, “At GoodMood, we’ve always believed in supporting artists in every way possible — not just by celebrating their work, but by showing up when it matters most. We Tallawah is a powerful reminder of art’s ability to unite communities and drive real change, and we’re proud to play a small part in helping Jamaica rebuild through creativity”
Project Organiser, Nadine Persaud says, “The Jamaican diaspora have watched distressing images of the devastation left by hurricane Melissa with a heavy heart. Many of the contributors to the project have family members who continue to be directly affected. A feeling of helplessness has been the driving force behind the formation of We Tallawah, not only to raise funds, but to draw attention to the beauty, resilience and strength of Jamaican culture.”
